An outdoor climbing wall has started operating in Mogilev. It is the highest in Belarus
A new 17-meter high climbing wall – approximately the height of a five-story building – was officially opened in Mogilev on the territory of the SDYUSSHOR "Victoria". According to city authorities , this is the highest outdoor climbing wall in the entire country.

The facility meets Olympic standards and has two routes: one for climbing difficulty and one for speed.
Around 300 children in Mogilev are involved in sport climbing. The branch for this sport at SDYUSSHOR "Victoria" has been operating since September last year.

Coach Maria Samsonova noted that the appearance of the climbing wall became an important event not only for Mogilev, but for all of Belarus, as athletes received a modern training facility.
Competitions were held at the opening with the participation of athletes from Mogilev, Gomel, Maryina Gorka, Shklov, and Bobruisk. The new facility was highly praised by 17-year-old Belarusian record holder in speed climbing Ignat Maksimovtsov, who holds a national record of 5.9 seconds.

For now, the climbing wall is only available to athletes and is located on the territory of the sports school under guard. However, authorities are working on the possibility of opening it to city residents and guests under the supervision of instructors.
The opening of the climbing wall was one of the events for Mogilev City Day. Also, in the coming days, the opening of a light-music fountain on the Dubrovenka River, city festival events, and a big concert with fireworks are planned here.
