Pavel Tkach, First Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatization, commented on the situation regarding unlimited internet for mobile operators, BelTA writes.
“They [mobile tariffs with unlimited internet] are not canceled even now. In accordance with Resolution No. 38 of Minsvyazi dated December 22, 2025, unlimited tariff plans include 30 GB at unlimited speed. After that, only the speed is limited, but not the volume of traffic,” Pavel Tkach noted.
According to him, the main reason for the restrictions is an imbalance in network load.
“Especially in the evening, when people actively start browsing social networks. At this time, there was often not quite targeted use of cellular communication. Because there were such cases in practice when a person buys one SIM card and starts distributing internet to all five family members and to three large televisions. Obviously, other internet users suffer from this. We initially did not design cellular networks for viewing 4K content simultaneously on three devices. Therefore, such restrictions are an element of some kind of deterrence,” the Deputy Minister stated.
He also added that in the future, with an increase in network capacity, this resolution is planned to be changed, and the “consumption limit will be increased.”
Since February, speed limits for internet on tariff plans with unlimited traffic appeared in Belarus.
