According to Yulia Gavrilovich, the implementation of 5G in Belarus is happening gradually and following the same scheme as the deployment of fourth-generation networks previously. Initially, the new technology appears in the country's largest cities, and then spreads to smaller settlements.
Currently, the 5G network is already operating in Minsk, Gomel, Vitebsk, Mogilev, and Brest. In Grodno, the necessary preparatory work is in its final stages, so the launch of the service is expected by the end of the year.
After this, district centers will begin to gain access to fifth-generation networks. In the future, the technology will gradually spread to smaller cities as well.
The development of 5G should provide higher mobile internet speeds, greater network bandwidth, and better communication quality under significant loads. This is particularly relevant given the constant growth in internet traffic volumes and the increasing number of users of modern digital services.
