The Belarusian activist did not seek medical help from doctors because he does not have insurance.

Ilya Dabratvor told "Nasha Niva" that approximately two weeks ago he fell down the stairs in a private house. He sadly jokes that it happened almost on the anniversary of the tragic death of opposition activist, member of the BNF Party Seim Zmitr Kaspiarovich — who also fell down the stairs.
Ilya published a photo of a large hematoma on Facebook. But this is far from the only consequence:
— Probably a concussion — because he lay with a basin for a week. And he also slightly damaged his ribs…

However, he did not contact doctors because he does not have Polish NFZ medical insurance. Therefore, he tried various painkillers himself. He says not all of them could relieve the pain, so he had to experiment.
— If I had NFZ, I could go. Otherwise, you might have to pay 10,000 zlotys (approximately $2650 — NN) for it. That's the Polish reality. An acquaintance was recently charged that much for an operation. It's all expensive… But with such injuries, they won't do anything anyway. You just have to lie down…
In such a state, it was difficult to take care of himself. Ilya said that he lives alone. It was painful to get up, and he walked by holding onto the wall. The activist has five children, but they currently live 300 kilometers away from their father and cannot help.
Due to the injury, Ilya is forced not to work — because driving a taxi with such injuries is dangerous.
