Woman Carried Over 72 Thousand Dollars from France — Brest Customs Officers Confiscated Them
Most of the banknotes were in Russian rubles.

Brest customs initiated a criminal case for an attempt to illegally move a large sum of cash across the border.
A passenger in a Peugeot car, traveling from France, attempted to import over 72 thousand US dollars in equivalent through the "Brest" border crossing point.
The woman told the customs inspector that she was only carrying personal belongings and about 1500 dollars. However, upon inspection of her luggage, customs officers found an amount significantly exceeding that permitted for duty-free import without declaration. Most of the banknotes were in Russian rubles, as shown in the photo published by customs.
A criminal case was initiated against the woman under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code (illegal movement of money across the customs border on a large scale). She faces up to five years of imprisonment. All cash was confiscated pending a court decision.

Ну я здагадваюся што проста дзеля агучвання сумы але гучыць гэта троху глупа.
