Previously, Boston placed the 24-year-old Minsk native on waivers. According to NHL rules, any club in the league could claim the hockey player without compensation, which Dallas did.
This NHL season, Kolyachonok played for Dallas and Boston. In total, the defenseman played 13 games, scored 3 (1+2) points, and has a plus-minus rating of "+2".
He also played 10 games for the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League and scored 3 (0+3) points, receiving 10 penalty minutes.
Dallas returned Kolyachonok there without him clearing waivers.
