"Preceded by a prolonged conflict." Investigators revealed details about the teenager's murder in a Gomel college
On March 25, a tragedy occurred at the Gomel Road Construction College: a conflict arose between two 17-year-old students, as a result of which one of them inflicted several knife wounds on the other. The victim was hospitalized, but efforts to save him were unsuccessful — he died in the hospital. Details of this story were revealed by the Investigative Committee for the Gomel region.

The investigation established that this was not a sudden incident. The conflict between the boys had been ongoing for a long time. According to information, there was animosity in their relationship, possibly even elements of bullying. However, despite this, the situation did not receive due attention from the responsible college staff.
On the day of the tragedy, both students were assigned to the same subgroup for practical training in the workshop of the educational training ground. It was there that the quarrel occurred, which escalated into violence.
According to one of the students, the attacker had additional problems the day before the incident — someone allegedly damaged his bicycle. This could have been a catalyst, after which he came to the college with a knife and used it during the conflict.
The Investigative Committee emphasized that individual preventive work with teenagers was not properly organized at the college. Teachers and administration did not take sufficient measures to prevent the development of a dangerous situation and virtually ignored the existing conflict.
In this regard, an official representation was sent to the Republican Institute for Vocational Education. It concerns the need to eliminate shortcomings in the organization of the educational and training process.
The issue was promptly considered at a video conference meeting with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education, the college administration, and pedagogical staff. The meeting discussed specific measures to improve control over student behavior, strengthen conflict prevention, and address the responsibility of employees who allowed shortcomings.
The criminal case continues. The suspect has been charged with murder and taken into custody. The investigation continues to ascertain all the circumstances and causes of the tragedy.
