Photographer Aliaksandr Shyshko detained at Minsk airport upon return from Georgia
Shyshko was detained in April 2026. Information about this was published on the Dissidentby project website, and human rights activist Raman Kisliak confirmed it to "Pozirk".

"Aliaksandr had been living in Tbilisi since at least 2022. It's hard to say why he returned to Belarus; perhaps he missed his homeland, his relatives. I think he miscalculated the risk of detention, thinking he would slip through," Kisliak said.
The human rights activist noted that after Freedom Day 2024, propagandists began mentioning Shyshko in their materials.
"As far as I know, a criminal case was initiated regarding the celebration of Freedom Days abroad, and as part of this case, his apartment in Belarus was searched," Kisliak added.
