Approximately 20 meters from the shore, Raman Bombir started shouting, "Help! I'm drowning!"
His groupmate from the Polytechnic College, Dzianis Matsiuk, did not lose his head, swam to his friend, and independently pulled him ashore. Later, rescuers from the Water Rescue Society also arrived. Who knows if they would have made it in time if not for Dzianis's quick reaction.

"Dzianis, I thank you very maternally," Raman's mother Kaciaryna Bombir wrote on Instagram. "I am grateful to you for your courage and bravery, for your heroic deed! I am grateful to you for saving our son! You are an example for many; not only peers but also the older generation should look up to you! God save you!" she writes.
