Russian troops have started using electronic warfare equipment to interfere with the operation of the Starlink satellite system and complicate the use of Ukrainian drones, reports Reuters, citing Ukrainian military personnel.

According to Ukrainian commanders and drone operators, Russia is thus trying to counteract medium-range drones that can strike targets tens of kilometers from the front line. Such drones are used for attacks on fuel depots, command posts, air defense systems, and other important targets.
Starlink plays an important role in controlling these drones, as the system allows operators to control them over long distances.
Ukrainian military personnel assert that Russian troops have started deploying powerful communication jamming complexes near military facilities and settlements. Among them is the system called "Volna Kupol Garant", which, according to them, can disrupt Starlink's operation in an area of about 20 square kilometers.
Ukrainian military personnel state that they have already detected about ten such complexes. Now these systems themselves are becoming targets for Ukrainian drones. One Ukrainian commander said that after the destruction of one of the jamming complexes, drones with Starlink connectivity again began to operate without interference.
American expert Rob Lee noted that Russia is gradually achieving certain results in combating Ukrainian drones. According to him, an increase in the production of electronic warfare equipment could complicate Ukrainian medium-range attacks.
