Stasia Hlinnik on Melnikova: I increasingly think she is no longer alive
Hlinnik believes that the plan with Melnikova might have gone awry. For example, there could have been a conflict with agent Labeyeu, who accompanied Anzhalika on flights, and he might have killed her in Dubai.
Stasia Hlinnik, Deputy Director of Tsikhanouskaya's Office, does not believe that Anzhalika Melnikova, the former speaker of the Coordination Council, has returned to Minsk.
"Given how events are unfolding around this case, I increasingly think she is no longer alive,"— she shared in an interview with Dzmitry Hurnevich on "Radio Svaboda". However, she noted that she has no new information about the former speaker.
"It seems to me that they would have already shown her if she were with the regime, as there have been many opportunities to use this card, that Melnikova is an agent," Hlinnik believes.
For example, she continues, during the recent elections to the Coordination Council, they could have attacked Melnikova, not the platform.

It should be noted that this year, photos of Melnikova from a Minsk gym appeared on social media, and her father confessed to "Nasha Niva" that she has been in Belarus "for quite some time." Others saw her in "Dana Mall". "Lustra" (Mirror) found out that after her disappearance, Melnikova acquired two apartments in Minsk. The arrest on her third apartment was lifted, and property division with her ex-husband was formalized.
Hurnevich asked how it happened that a new person in politics was appointed to head the Coordination Council.
"Perhaps it was strange, but people trusted and voted. At that time, we supported her as a representative of the list. There was Pavel Latushka's list, they nominate a person for the position, and it's clear that this is the list that received the most votes during the elections. It's very logical that their person would occupy the speaker's position (...) Their internal decision was to put forward Anzhalika Melnikova."
Stasia Hlinnik recalls that Melnikova was an energetic speaker and was good at resolving conflicts.
"I assume that at some point, she might have been blackmailed, influenced. The moment when communication and behavior changed was January [2025]," Stasia notes.
She recalls Melnikova's performance with a song at the conference of democratic forces in Warsaw on the day of the presidential elections in Belarus.
"It seemed strange to me then that she performed that song. (...) That was the first moment I noticed something had changed in her behavior, and that it was a strange act — to sing such a song in such a manner on such a day. And after that, she gradually started to disappear from communication."
