Trilateral negotiations between the US, Russia, and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi were «productive» and saw progress, Axios writes, citing unnamed American officials.

According to Axios, Russia and Ukraine are on the verge of direct negotiations between their presidents. American officials, acting as intermediaries, state that the parties are «very close» to organizing a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a successful round of consultations in the United Arab Emirates.
The trilateral negotiations in Abu Dhabi, involving a US delegation, were held behind closed doors, where teams from Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff helped coordinate the work of the Russian and Ukrainian groups.
It is reported that all key issues were discussed: from territorial claims in Donbas to the fate of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and concrete de-escalation steps to confirm a complete cessation of the war. According to the American side, the participants treated each other with respect and actively sought solutions.
At the end of the second day of negotiations, the Russian and Ukrainian delegations sat down for dinner together, where, eyewitnesses noted, the atmosphere was almost friendly. The parties are now preparing for the next round in Abu Dhabi.
