In Vitebsk, paths trodden by people themselves in courtyards will be legalized and tidied up
In Vitebsk, they plan to officially arrange the so-called "people's paths" — these are paths that residents themselves trod in courtyards for convenience. As part of the new "Path Network" program, 159 such paths will be asphalted in 2026, writes sb.by.

Such paths appeared in green areas between houses, and the authorities decided not to fight them, but on the contrary — to adapt them to the real needs of people and turn them into full-fledged pedestrian walkways.
The total length of these routes will be more than 20 kilometers. The width of the paths will be about 1.2 meters, and the length — from small sections of approximately 40 meters to more than 500 meters.
The project will cover all districts of the city, and the work will be carried out by the local communal enterprise.
In addition, other tidying up works will continue in Vitebsk:
- 159 sports and children's playgrounds will be installed and repaired in 102 courtyards;
- comprehensive repairs will be carried out in 48 courtyards (new asphalt, benches, trash bins);
- they plan to plant about 700 trees and 500 bushes.
