Third bank introduces fee for accepting Russian rubles from foreigners

BNB-Bank introduces a 5% commission for accepting cash Russian rubles from non-residents.

Another Belarusian financial institution has restricted operations with cash Russian currency for foreigners. BNB-Bank announced the introduction of a 5% fee for accepting cash Russian rubles for crediting to non-resident accounts.

The new rules will be introduced in two stages:

  • from June 20, the commission will be charged when crediting funds to accounts opened from this date;
  • from July 18, the tariff will become mandatory for accounts opened before June 20.

BNB-Bank has become the third major bank in the country to take such a step. Earlier, Alfa-Bank (where changes will take effect on July 14) and MTBank (introducing the commission in stages from June 19 and July 20) warned about the introduction of a similar 5% commission.
