According to Alexander Turchyn, in just a few days, starting July 1, the provisions of the decree on crypto banks will come into force. In this regard, the Supervisory Board is considering draft documents that define internal control requirements, as well as requirements for companies planning to obtain crypto bank status, and their business projects.
Dmitry Kalechyts, First Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the HTP Supervisory Board, reported that the legal framework for the operation of crypto banks is currently being actively formed. Special attention is paid to mechanisms for combating the legalization of criminally obtained proceeds and the financing of illegal activities.
In addition, a new type of activity will appear in the HTP jurisdiction — KYT-providers (Know Your Transaction). Their task is to analyze cryptocurrency operations and enhance the security of financial services in accordance with international standards in the field of anti-money laundering.
According to Kalechyts, crypto banks will be able to carry out a wide range of financial operations, including those related to foreign economic activity. The development of Belarusian technological solutions in the field of control and analysis of cryptocurrency transactions is also expected.
