The Norway national team defeated Brazil in the 1/8 final match with a score of 2:1. Haaland scored the first goal in the 80th minute, and then again in the 91st.
Brazil is not what it used to be — although bookmakers considered them the absolute favorite of the match — the team completely ceded the initiative to their opponents. Norway possessed the ball 67%. Yes, there weren't many attacks, the pace wasn't high, but the game was generally under the Scandinavians' control.
And Norway's goalkeeper caught fire — 35-year-old Ørjan Nyland even saved a penalty at the beginning of the game.
In the last minute of the match, a penalty was awarded against Norway. Neymar scored, but it didn't help, Norway wins 2:1.
In the quarter-finals, Norway will meet the winner of the Mexico — England match, which starts today at three in the morning.
Haaland, by the way, has caught up with Messi and Mbappé in terms of goals scored at this World Cup. They now all have seven goals.
