Konstantin Zalatykh, Director of the "Belarusy i Rynok" Newspaper, Has Been Released
The director of "Belarusy i Rynok" newspaper was sentenced to 4 years in a penal colony under several political articles. He served his full sentence.

Konstantin Zalatykh was arrested on May 18, 2022.
On April 6, 2023, he was sentenced to 4 years in a penal colony on charges of insulting a government official (Art. 369 of the Criminal Code), insulting Lukashenka (Art. 368 of the Criminal Code), inciting hatred (Art. 130 of the Criminal Code), and abuse of power or official authority (Art. 426 of the Criminal Code).
The Prosecutor General's Office press service wrote about some details of the indictment. According to their version, Konstantin Zalatykh was aware of the amendments made to the Media Law, which prevented two Polish citizens from collectively owning 28% of the company's shares.
Therefore, without holding a general meeting of shareholders, he independently introduced changes to the JSC's charter to exclude foreign citizens from the list of founders and registered it with the Main Justice Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee, as reported by "Mediazona." He then submitted it along with other documents to the Ministry of Information. This served as a basis for the JSC to continue functioning, and for Zalatykh to continue as its director.
According to the prosecution, this violated the rights of shareholders and harmed state and public interests.
The trial in Zalatykh's case was held behind closed doors.
On July 13, 2023, the KGB added the journalist to the "terrorist list." On July 21, 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs added him to the "list of extremists."
