He also talked in his sleep, disturbing his neighbors.

A Belarusian, D.Y. — full name not disclosed — was killed in Podolsk, Russia, on the night of December 3, 2023.
The tragedy occurred in a "worker's house" — accommodation provided to people in difficult life situations in exchange for work. Russian Yevgeny Meshcheryakov, who was in charge there, offered an overnight stay to an unknown man, a Belarusian citizen D.Y. The Belarusian had been earning money in the Moscow region since 2010, often abusing alcohol.
He was heavily intoxicated this time too. At night, he snored and talked in his sleep, disturbing other residents of the house.
Meshcheryakov entered the room several times, demanding silence. When his requests did not help, he struck the man at least five times with his hands to the head — according to a witness, characteristic sounds of blows could be heard through the wall. The victim fell silent. Later, Meshcheryakov, with the help of another resident, moved the man, already bleeding, to an adjacent, warmer room and left him until morning. In the morning, around 5 AM, he realized the man was not breathing and called an ambulance — which pronounced the Belarusian dead.
A forensic medical examination revealed that D.Y. had suffered a closed craniocerebral injury with a subdural hematoma, which led to brain compression and was the direct cause of death.
Meshcheryakov pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 7 years in a strict-regime penal colony for intentionally causing grievous bodily harm, which inadvertently led to death.
