According to law enforcement officials, an unknown person, who introduced herself as a polyclinic employee, wrote to the teenager in a messenger. She inquired about the boy's health, height, and weight, after which she asked for a phone number for "linking to an electronic medical card" and received a code from an SMS.
Soon, the young man received a call from alleged employees of the unified portal of electronic services. He was informed that his and his parents' personal data had allegedly fallen into the hands of criminals and was being used in illegal activities. To "declare" the cash, the teenager was convinced to take all savings from home and deliver them to Minsk.
The young man took the family safe, which contained 16 thousand rubles, and set off for the capital by taxi. Along the way, the driver suspected foul play and contacted the police, which prevented the money from being handed over to the scammers.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.
