Kaczyński: Ukraine will not join the EU unless it changes its course

The leader of the Polish opposition party "Law and Justice" (PiS), in a letter to party members, called on them to block Ukraine's accession to the European Union until Kyiv changes its policy regarding the "cult of Bandera and other criminals, the glorification of UPA and OUN," writes "Ukrainska Pravda".

In a letter addressed to PiS members, Kaczyński emphasized that if the party wins the next elections, it will not allow Ukraine to join the European Union until it changes its course.

“Ukraine cannot be accepted into the European Union until it completely abandons the course it has chosen today… Poland, in its own interest, as well as in the interests of European countries and, moreover, the entire Christian civilization, cannot allow the ideology of Banderism — one of the most criminal and inhumane ideologies that today shapes the consciousness of the Ukrainian nation — to be admitted into this community,” the politician stated.

He also called on his fellow party members to use all available means to "block the actions of Donald Tusk's government aimed at integrating Ukraine into the European Union on privileged terms".

The PiS leader noted that "no sovereign state can tolerate genocidal actions against its own nation, even in the slightest degree".

The politician also stated that Poland and its citizens have incurred and continue to incur "enormous financial costs to support the Ukrainian state and its army".

“Ukrainian taxpayers, without widespread external support, including from Poland, are not capable of maintaining a combat-ready army and ensuring the basic functioning of their state,” Kaczyński asserts.

According to him, despite this, "an incredibly audacious and contemptuous act was committed: a unit of the Ukrainian army, which, after all, is also financed by Polish funds, was named after people responsible for the brutal murders of the Polish population in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia".

On July 3, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, during a meeting in Warsaw with Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, proposed a package of anti-crisis measures to reduce tensions in relations between Ukraine and Poland.

Грошы? Калі русскія танкі будуць на вуліцах Варшавы, то не трэба будзе фінансаваць украінскую армію. Будзяце фінансаваць оркаў. Украіна плаціць жыццямі сваіх грамадзян.
