According to the official, the reconstruction of storm sewer collectors continues in the capital this year. Works on two facilities have already been completed, and in the near future, they will begin on Parnikovaya and Yakub Kolas streets. In addition, three to four more collectors are planned to be updated by the end of the year, which should help reduce the number of floods during heavy rains.
The new main collector on Timiryazev Street will collect and divert rainwater. According to specialists, Minsk already has a developed storm sewer network, but the city specifically lacks large collectors for effective water drainage.
Also this year, the construction of an access road from MKAD-2 to the Kolyadichi industrial zone continues. They plan to open traffic on it by the end of the year to reduce the load on the Minsk Ring Road.
In addition, the reconstruction of Lili Karastayanava Street is underway. It is planned to commission it this year to improve transport accessibility to the new residential area "Paunochny Bereh" (Northern Shore).
