Mount Etna, Europe's highest active volcano, has once again become active in Sicily.

The eruption reportedly began last week when lava started flowing down the mountain's slopes. A new crater opened at an altitude of about 3000 meters, making the process particularly spectacular.
Observers are recording streams of bright orange magma flowing down the slopes, as well as emissions of volcanic ash into the air. Videos and photos of this active eruption continue to appear on social media.
Etna is Europe's highest (about 3357 meters) active volcano and periodically shows activity, so such eruptions occur quite regularly there.
