He also said that negotiations with Tehran no longer make sense. "As far as I'm concerned, I think it's all over," he said.
US President Donald Trump, at the NATO summit, answered journalists' questions about whether the ceasefire regime with Iran would continue.
"That's a very interesting question. It seems to me that it's over. I no longer want to deal with them <...> From my point of view, it's all over. I will talk to our negotiators — they want to negotiate. From my point of view, it's simply a waste of time to deal with them," Trump said.
"We will not allow the crazy Iranians to get nuclear weapons. Iran tried to kill me and destroyed thousands of its own citizens. I don't think they understand what they're doing. We've spent too much time on them, and we'll have to do what's necessary there."
"These lunatics in Iran — they're some kind of sick in the head. They are evil. I hate them. Nobody likes them. They are losers. Otherwise, they would have made a deal with us a long time ago. We have already eliminated their first leadership, and then the second. These are evil and sick people. They must be destroyed root and branch, like a cancerous tumor," he added.
