Russia’s PM arrives next week, Azerbaijan’s President — in late August.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is expected to attend the Council of Ministers of the Belarus–Russia Union State will hold a meeting in Minsk on July 18, BelaPAN reports.
According to the Belarus ambassador to Russia, the agenda of the meeting includes a wide range of issues, including trade and economic cooperation, reports on the performance of Union State bodies and deliveries of energy resources from Russia to Belarus.
Furthermore, Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, is scheduled to visit Belarus in late August, Mikalaj Packievich, the Baku-based ambassador of Belarus informed. He said that the visit would focus on “cooperation in the sphere of innovational development”.
“Azerbaijan is actively developing the economy's oil sectors and we are ready to have our developments used there,”the ambassador said.
The diplomat added that the schedule of the visit had not yet been approved formally but Mr. Aliyev would certainly visit the High-Technology Park in the Belarusian capital.
“Serious attention will also be devoted to cooperation between the two countries' science academies. A number of agreements are to be signed during the visit,”he said.
Belarus and Azerbaijan are discussing preparations for marking 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
