Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced at the "Serbia – One Family" rally that he would resign in a few weeks.

Vučić has been the President of Serbia since 2017. One year remained until the end of his second term.

"This is the last time I address so many people as president. For 14 years, I have faithfully served my country in every position and at every moment. I love Serbia more than anything in the world," he said.

"I will be president for a few more weeks, and then I will resign.

I told the chairman of the Serbian Progressive Party that in the upcoming elections, if they wish, I will help gain the people's trust together with you. My proposal was, and they accepted it, that the list will be called "United Serbia." I believe that we will defeat them more convincingly than ever, we will come out with how we will further help our people, wherever they may live. I will pardon many people. I won't be able to pardon everyone, but all those who, through ignorance, carelessness, committed certain acts. I will close my eyes. You don't need to remove me, I will leave myself," said Vučić.
