Russian serviceman who fought in Ukraine recorded an appeal to Putin and warned of a rebellion. He was arrested

"If in the near future I don't come to the Kremlin and speak live next to you, the army will turn its weapons against the Kremlin," said Alexander Lunin, covered in medals.

Alexander Lunin is a Russian serviceman who fought in Ukraine. On June 25, covered in medals, he recorded a video appeal to Putin. He spoke about torture in Russian units and warned Putin about a possible rebellion.

"If in the near future I don't come to the Kremlin and speak live next to you, the army will turn its weapons against the Kremlin," he declared in the appeal.

As "Agentstvo" reports, Lunin served in the Sudoplatov volunteer battalion, first as a rifleman, then as a commander. In December 2022, he arrived in Melitopol, and in January 2023, he went on his first combat mission, after which his unit came under mortar fire. He was later concussed.

Lunin explained how he decided to record the appeal. On June 24, a black SUV pulled up to him in the village of Lizinovka, Voronezh Oblast. There were three people in the car: "One from the Ministry of Defense, the second from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And the third was also from some service, but it belongs to the Ministry of Defense, as I understood." They demanded he record a video, Lunin claims.

Lunin says these people explained their demand to him by the situation at the front. "No one wants bloodshed. Just convey to the president that we will have complete chaos if this continues. Because too many people are sent on missions that are absolutely impossible to accomplish. And people don't come back from there. And people no longer want to go, and they are punished for it," he recounted the conversation.

Lunin has two sons. He is currently not fighting because, according to him, he was dismissed for dereliction of duty in 2025.

The serviceman's videos garnered 15 million and 5 million views. Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, stated on Friday that the Kremlin had not had time to review the video.

On the night of June 27, Lunin was visited. His home was searched, and he was arrested for 11 days (information about this appeared on a Telegram channel associated with Lunin).

Шкада, што такія думкі толькі ў кантужаных. Тут адно х дзьвух, або глузды зьвіхнуліся, або наадварот, сталі на месца. Ніхто дакладна ня ведае.
