In Minsk, the tram loop is being moved from "Vozera" DS closer to the center
How will the transport scheme change?

The capital has begun relocating the tram turning loop to facilitate the later expansion of Dauginauski Trakt due to the construction of a metro line, Minsk-News reports.
A project has been developed to expand a section of the road network — from the intersection of Dauginauski Trakt with Charviakova Lane to Staravilienski Trakt. It is planned to be implemented in six stages, taking into account the future metro line and the location of an underground station on Arlouskaya Street.
— The first stage of construction involves the dismantling of tram tracks on Staravilienski Trakt, and the relocation of the tram turning loop from the terminal station "Vozera" to the Palace of Children and Youth.
Also, a section of Staravilienskaya Street (from Navavilienskaya to Arlouskaya) will be reconstructed, repurposing the former tram tracks into traffic lanes. During the second stage, the territory of Staravilienski Trakt will be cleared. The third and subsequent stages will be exclusively related to construction and installation work for the expansion of Dauginauski Trakt, — said Siarhei Panioŭ, director of Hardarbuda. — In addition, plans include the reconstruction of the intersection and a change in traffic direction with the addition of a left-turn exit, and strengthening of traffic light regulation.
The new traffic organization scheme at the intersection of Arlouskaya Street and Staravilienski Trakt will come into effect in 2027.
The work will also entail changes in public transport routes.
— Due to the relocation of the turning loop in the area of the Palace of Children and Youth, tram routes will be shortened to the new loop, — noted Yury Supranovich, director of the enterprise "Capital Transport and Communications". — Tram traffic on Staravilienski Trakt from Navavilienskaya Street to the "Vozera" dispatcher station is canceled.
However, during the repair work, passenger transport will continue to operate on Dauginauski Trakt from Charviakova Lane to Arlouskaya Street. Changes to the route network will be implemented in stages depending on the improvement of the necessary infrastructure.
For the convenience of Minsk residents and guests, a new route No. 263 "Central Bus Station - Navavilienskaya" is planned to be organized daily.
It is expected to run (upon agreement with the traffic police department of the Minsk City Executive Committee) along Navavilienskaya, Arlouskaya, Staravilienski Trakt, Daumana Streets, Mašerava Avenue, M. Bahdanovich, Niampiha Streets, F. Bahuševiča Square, K. Cetkin and Babruiskaja Streets. This will create a direct transport connection with three metro lines. The interval will not exceed 15 minutes during peak hours.
Yury Supranovich emphasized that changing passenger transport routes is a laborious process that requires detailed analysis and study of passenger flows.
— It is currently difficult to say definitively which routes will change their path after the expansion of Dauginauski Trakt. However, if this happens, various options and possibilities will be studied, — he added. — After the completion of work on the section from Arlouskaya Street to Charviakova Lane, a route from the "Piaunočny Biera" district to Pushkinskaya metro station is planned. It is assumed that especially large-capacity electric buses will operate there.
