Village People frontman and co-writer of YMCA song Victor Willis dies

Victor Willis, frontman of the disco band Village People, has died at the age of 74 after a short illness. This was reported on the band's Facebook page, writes the BBC.
Willis was the vocalist for Village People and co-writer of their main hits — YMCA, Go West, and In The Navy. He left the band in 1980 but returned in 2017.
In January 2025, the musician performed the song YMCA at a Donald Trump rally on the eve of his inauguration.
