Burundi Citizen Arrested for a Month for Wallet Theft

A Burundian, who worked as a cleaner in railway carriages, stole a wallet containing 1265 rubles at the Minsk-Passazhyrski station in November.

The man simply took it from the passenger seat. During the investigation, the damage was fully compensated, and the accused's property was seized. He himself was in custody, writes "Minskaya Prauda".

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Minsk found the 27-year-old man guilty under Part 1 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code (theft) and sentenced him to one month of arrest.

As investigators noted, the cause of the crime was the carelessness of the victim himself: he left his wallet unattended on the passenger seat, which the cleaner took advantage of.
