Belarusian athlete told WP SportoweFakty about her financial situation.

"Scholarship money is not enough to cover the cost of apartment rent. Fortunately, I receive additional payments for lunches from the club. Sometimes I have small advertising collaborations, thanks to which I can continue my career," says Krystsina Tsimanouskaya.

The 29-year-old sprinter does not hide that life in Warsaw is a great challenge for her. She currently receives only small scholarships from the city and the Polish Athletics Association.

"This is less than three thousand zlotys a month (about 700 euros. — NN)," she admits.

As the athlete emphasizes, social media has become a key source of additional income.

"Instagram saves me. Without it, I might not have been able to continue my career. I have no savings left after everything I had was taken by my former partner," she says about her ex-husband Arseniy Zdanevich.

The sprinter gave up additional activities and fully dedicated herself to training. She understands that there is not much time left to achieve her goals.

"This year I will turn 30, and I realized that I have a maximum of two, maybe three years left of professional running. I took a maximal risk and gave up a more comfortable life," she emphasizes.

Her main goal is to improve her personal best in the 200-meter distance.

"For many years, the result of 22.50 seconds has been in my head. This is my biggest life desire, even an obsession," Krystsina concludes.

Recall that five years ago, a scandal erupted around Krystsina Tsimanouskaya at the Tokyo Olympics.

She refused to run in the non-specialized 4x400 meters relay and said that the official Belarusian delegation tried to forcibly take the sprinter back to Belarus. At the airport, Krystsina refused to board the plane, asked for protection from the Japanese police, and received a humanitarian visa at the Polish embassy. The athlete began competing for the Polish national athletics team, but neither she nor the Polish team achieved significant success.

In 2023, Krystsina finally broke up with her husband Arseniy Zdanevich (the couple had been together for nine years, six of them officially married), who returned to Belarus. Almost immediately after moving from her ex, the runner went on vacation to Greece — and there she met a new love. Her chosen one became Ukrainian blogger Oleksandr Salonsky, who later proposed to her, and she said "yes" to him.
