Igor Sergeenko arrived in Iran for the funeral of Ayatollah Khamenei
The farewell ceremony for the Ayatollah will last seven days.

Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Igor Sergeenko arrived in Iran.
At Imam Khomeini International Airport, Sergeenko was met by Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Hamidreza Haji-Babaei.
During the visit, meetings with the country's leadership are planned, according to the parliament's press service. Joint economic and humanitarian projects are to be discussed.
Sergeenko will also take part in the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed during Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, 2026. The farewell ceremony will take place from July 3‑9.
"The passing of Ali Khamenei is an irreversible loss not only for the Iranian people but also for Iran's friendly countries, which for many decades have witnessed his state activities aimed at strengthening the sovereignty, independence, and national dignity of his country," Sergeenko said at a meeting with the Chairman of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
