Lithuanian company Kesko Senukai announced the final sale of shares in Belarusian network OMA

The company says the sale was delayed due to the actions of the Belarusian authorities.

The Lithuanian group of companies for the trade of construction, repair, and household goods Kesko Senukai announced that last year it sold 50% of the shares of the OMA retail network in Belarus, reports LRT.

"In 2022, with the start of Russian aggression in Ukraine, we ceased all business ties, supply chains, and cooperation in Belarus. (...) The process of selling OMA shares, initiated immediately, due to the actions of the Belarusian authorities, was completed last year after the signing of the share sale agreement," said Lyubov Zaitseva, Head of Communications at Kesko Senukai, in a comment to BNS.

The company has not yet commented on to whom and for what amount it sold the OMA shares, but promised to provide this information later.

The group's report for 2025 states that last year its revenues in Belarus grew by 2.1% to 140.2 million euros, and its subsidiary OMA had a credit line at year-end and mortgaged inventory and property to banks for 17.85 million euros.

"According to mandatory accounting standards, OMA was still included in our consolidated reports. Therefore, answering the question of what revenues were received in Belarus, the answer is as follows: we did not receive any revenues; OMA received them," noted the representative of Kesko Senukai.

Nevertheless, the group's report for 2025 contains no information about transactions of OMA or other group companies related to shares. As of the end of 2025, Kesko Senukai Lithuania, through its subsidiary SPC Holding, owned 50% plus one share of Romos Holdingas, and the latter held 100% of OMA's shares, according to the document.

In May 2022, Kesko Senukai announced the suspension of operations in Belarus and its withdrawal from OMA's shareholders. It was then reported that the process of selling the 50% stake, which the company indirectly owned, was not yet completed, and it was planned to finalize it within a few months.

Объясните мне, какой в этом смысл? Где тут выигрывает Литва и ее бизнес, а где проигрывает Беларусь?
Пока я вижу только обратные результаты от подобного рода санкций и прочих принципиальных, но не логичных решений
