Trump Showed a Mock-up of the New 100-Dollar Banknote with His Signature
The signature is placed above the signature of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
On Friday, the US President published an image of the new 100-dollar banknote with his signature. This happened several months after the US Treasury Department announced such plans.
Back in March, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that the administration plans to place Trump's signature on American paper money for the first time in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States, writes RBC-Ukraine.
On the night of July 4, Trump personally showed what this banknote would look like. In the image, the US leader's signature is placed above Bessent's signature.
Previously, the 100-dollar banknote only bore the signatures of the Treasury Secretary and the US Treasurer, but not the incumbent president. Thus, this is happening for the first time under Trump.
"The President's contribution to history as the architect of America's economic resurgence in the Golden Age is undeniable. Placing his signature on American money is not only appropriate but entirely deserved," Bessent said in March.
CNN journalists contacted the US Treasury Department with a question about whether such banknotes are already being printed.
