Mobile communication towers in Belarus will be placed near the roads
In Belarus, mobile communication towers are planned to be placed closer to motorways. This should make the construction of infrastructure for communication operators cheaper and simpler. The Ministry of Communications and Informatization has agreed with the Ministry of Transport and Communications on a solution to this problem.

As explained on the "First Information" TV channel by the Minister of Communications and Informatization Kiryl Zaleski, the quality of mobile communication along roads depends on the placement of antenna-mast structures. Currently, in rural areas, such facilities are often built at a distance of 30-50 meters from roads, but this requires additional work: land allocation, cable laying, and other engineering communications.
The new solution involves installing towers approximately where lighting poles are currently located along motorways. This will simplify construction.
Back in 2024, the government approved new requirements for the development of mobile communication. By 2030, it is planned to provide LTE coverage to 99% of the country's territory.
Internet speed targets have also been set: in regional centers and Minsk, the average data transfer speed should reach 70 Mbit/s, in district centers, towns, and urban-type settlements – 60 Mbit/s, and in the rest of the territory – 30 Mbit/s.
